Anita in the Kitchen

Welcome to our home.
Cooking our meals is a necessary part of life and to make them healthy is loving and nurturing for our bodies.
We hope the recipes shared on this website and in the cookbook inspire you, so that you may feel confident to adapt your recipes and create meals that have ingredients that will not react with your body.
By always using fresh meats, seafood, eggs, vegetables, fruits and nuts, I will show you how to make delicious meals that are nourishing yet simple to make for any home cook.

What to expect from this website.......

Our aim is to create delicious, nutritious, easy to prepare meals and snacks that have the compatibility of being Gluten free, Dairy free, Sugar free, Preservative free, Vinegar free and Alcohol free......which is what A neater Way of Cooking Cookbook is all about!
Each week we will deliver a new recipe idea from our kitchen and some week we will offer guest Home Cooks.
We plan to have fun with food and generally play with unusual ingredient ideas, for example broccoli biscuits and coconut bread.
So check in each week for some great tips and inspiration and send us your comments.

Introducing Anita  

Anita has always had a healthy passion for cooking. With no formal qualification she has been inspired by others and for the enjoyment of food tasty good but not carrying the emotion that we often use it for.  Through trial and error, Anita has developed her skills and techniques over the last 40 years. But in particularly the recipes in her latest book and featured on this website, focus on the way of cooking she has developed and adapted for Gluten free, Dairy free, Sugar free, Preservative free, Yeast free, Vinegar free and Alcohol free cooking. A neater way of cooking.
Anita's recipes are simple everyday recipes that cover all daily meal times and more. Her view on cooking is a very simple one. It must be quick, easy to make, from ingredients stocked in your pantry or fridge, and above all it should satisfy your hunger and taste delicious and allow you to understand that food need not be emotional.

A number of years ago Anita's world was put in a spin when she discovered certain foods that were suppressing her well being. With her focus on her family, she wondered how could she cook compatibly for herself yet still provide a large nutritious meal for everyone else. So at a time when most people would throw their hands in the air, she looked within and ignited a spark that would lead her on a journey to create a Gluten free, Dairy free, Sugar free, Preservative free, Yeast free, Vinegar free and Alcohol free cookbook and ultimately this website.

A common problem, that a lot of middle aged women can attest, is there is always a few extra kilos that they just can't shake. No amount of exercise or "diets" are enough to remove these extra kilos, and Anita was no exception. She thought she was eating well, so what could be the problem. She starting reading labels more closely and was astonished at the amount of prepared products and foods that contained sugar. She then proceeded to eliminate sugar from her diet and the extra kilos just disappeared. All this whilst still eating tasty nutritious meals and I must say she looks amazing for it. To this point Anita had created a vast array of Gluten and Dairy free recipes, but realising she had to also remove Sugar from her recipes, she had to discard them all and start again. So is the integrity of this woman, that she couldn't produce recipes with ingredients that she knew where harmful for others. There are also many other ingredients you won't find in Anita's recipes, for after many years of her own research, she has found different foods affect us in ways that we don't realise, as our bodies are so good at masking and storing foods that don't agree with us. But like everything, one day it will catch up with us.

She would now like you to join her, and for her to join you, on your respective journeys  to a healthy happy life by cooking & eating in a way that is easy, fun and flavoursome. A neater way.....your way.
